We provide old-fashioned & trigger point acupuncture and moxibustion with needles, moxa, and warm and soft hands only. This is seemingly completely opposite from modern science and obsolete but is far from it.
The acupuncture treatment that I provide is the one designed after each member studied the classics of moxibustion and verified the effectiveness. And this trend is continuing even now. Therefore this is not superstitious treatment which disappears as time goes by. Acupuncture treatment seems out-of-date but is and always will be a traditional acupuncture moxibustion therapy which evolves as time goes by.
Depending on the situation, we occasionally provide manipulative therapy
like massage or shiatsu but these are manipulative “clinical massage” therapy,
not just relaxation which gives relief, comfort and satisfaction.
Also in order for our patients to decrease the financial burden and shorten the treatment period, we encourage them to self-care at home. To improve the symptoms, we believe it's essential for patients not to have a reactive attitude but to determine to change their bodies by themselves.

About acupuncture, moxibustion and manual therapy
The photo on the right is part of the contact needles I use.
It should be noted that for those who are allergic to metal I use titanium contact needles which rarely trigger allergies.
However, we may have to prick with needles when you are diagnosed that the cause of the pain is at the depth around waist and buttocks (about 4 cm thick fat on average women's buttocks) after obtaining the consent from our patient. I then use disposable fine needles which are as thick as hair and barely cause pain (about 0.08mm thickness. The thickness of the needles used at Hiro's Acupuncture and Moxibustion is somewhere between 0.1mm and 0.14mm and they are high quality Japan made).
Please see the photo on the left. Left side is hair and right side is the 0.12mm thick needle used at Hiro's but the hair is thicker if you look closely.
Of course, it doesn't compare to the thickness of the needle to inject drugs.
There are many acupuncture and moxibustion clinics in name only which actually don't provide moxibustion. Even they provide moxibustion treatment; they provide simple moxibustion like SennenQ even amateurs can do. Moxibustion can cause smoke and burn patients' skin. This means that moxibustion treatment is difficult for the practitioners.
Thanks to the apprenticeship period, when I was in charge of providing moxibustion to more than dozen of patients every day for 4 years, I became good at moxibustion treatment. Not only you won't get scar or burned but also heat can be adjusted freely so please enjoy the professional moxibustion with peace of mind. Especially every one of women who suffers from sensitivity to the cold gives me positive feedback, saying its unique soft warmth of moxibustion penetrates the core of the body and even changes the constitution.
I put out the fire at the perfect timing just before reaching the skin.I remove it when you feel the warmth.
Our clinic mainly provides acupuncture and moxibustion but also adds massage as supplemental therapy. There are opinions that massage and acupuncture are incompatible but I feel there is an affinity, which enhances the effect of each part. However, the massage I give is medical massage and clinical massage for treatment purposes. We do not aimlessly give massage but pinpoint the affected fascia or muscle areas and massage(trigger point massage). It is particularly effective in paralysis.

FLOW of TREATMENT
1. Medical Interview
We listen to your current symptoms, medical history, preference for treatment etc.
2. Medical Examination
We plan courses of treatment by examining pulse, abdomen, and tongue in Oriental medical diagnosis. Depending on the symptoms, we might need to examine and diagnose anatomically and physiologically in Western medicine.
3. Treatment
We basically use acupuncture and moxibustion. Might provide massage depending on the symptoms and affected areas.
4. After-care
We discuss the cause, treatment period and goal. Also I will coach you stretch, moxa (SennenQ) and muscle training for the earliest improvement and recovery as well as prevention of recurrence. After the second visit, I confirm if you are doing these properly.

As a child, ever since I developed childhood asthma, I had a weak constitution and prone to illness so I had strong yearning to be healthy. As animal hair is not good to asthma, touching the animal was not even allowed, let alone approaches; I cannot forget the sadness even now. When I was unable to breathe at asthma attack, I was often aware of death. However, I regained a healthy body gradually, and started working as a filmmaker, and teaching at prep school. After standing in the middle of life, I had a desire to go to medical field so jumped into my favorite Oriental medicine, acupuncture field.
So my career as an acupuncturist isn't so long however, I strongly believe that my previous career and experience help my patients to regain the health. I might not be the number one as an acupuncturist but will continue to learn more to become a one-of-a-kind.

Born in Kagoshima Prefecture in 1965. Earned a master's degree in Literature from Tamagawa University Graduate School (British Children's Literature). After graduation, he worked as an English teacher at a major prep school and wrote correspondence textbooks as well as reference books. Eventually he suffered both mental and physical due to hard work, and was referred to an acupuncture and moxibustion Clinic by his friend then was impressed by the treatment there. Past the age of 40, he realized that he came to the turning point of life; he had to do what he really wanted to do otherwise it's going to be too late so he entered Japan Acupuncture and Moxibustion College. A year later, he started training at the acupuncture clinic once a week. After obtaining a national qualification as acupuncturist, moxibustionist, Japanese traditional massage, massage, shiatsu therapist, he started home-visit massage, orthopedic work and studied in Acupuncture and Moxibustion Clinic.
